The World Association of Zoos and Aquariums (WAZA) has welcomed a new member to its global community, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. This historic institution, established in 1914, is home to over 2,000 exotic animals and 1,000 plant species and serves as the largest botanical garden in Northeast Florida.
With its commitment to education, conservation, and research, the Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens aligns perfectly with the areas of focus for WAZA institutions. Its mission, dedicated to connecting the community with wildlife and wild places, has inspired over one million visitors each year to discover and appreciate the natural world.
